Consortium for Adequate School Funding in Georgia -- Suit close to being filed
Brandon Larrabee of Morris News Service has done a great job of reviewing some of the legal history in Georgia and other states over alleged underfunding of education by legislation.
His article is timely as more than 50 school districts comprising the Consortium for Adequate School Funding in Georgia are expected to file a suit claiming the state doesn't do enough to fund education.
After months of haggling, and even as a task force appointed by Gov. Sonny Perdue looks to fix the state's system for funding local schools, it appears that the battle between the state and the districts is headed for Fulton County Superior Court.
