It's official. Attorney General Thurbert Baker will have opposition.

The 5-10-05 AJC Political Insider reports that coming out of the GOP convention in Savannah this past weekend was news confirming that Republican Robert Highsmith of Atlanta, formerly deputy counsel to the governor, will be running against Thurbert Baker in 2006.

This announcement comes as no surprise, and the Attorney General has been gearing up for this expected news since last summer.
