Another week, another Democrat withdraws. Last week it was from a state Senate race; this time its from a state House race.

Rep. Bert Oliver, D-Glennville, withdrew Thursday from his re-election battle with Rep. Terry Barnard, R-Glennville. The two had been drawn into the same district under redistricting maps approved by federal judges.

Bobby Kahn said Oliver withdrew for health reasons. The party probably will not seek to field a replacement candidate, he said.
