Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., accepted President-elect Barack Obama's offer to be his White House chief of staff, MSNBC reported Wednesday. Emanuel represents Illinois's fifth congressional district, which includes much of the north side of Chicago, Obama's home town. He is the House's fourth-ranking Democrat.
