2006 U.S.Census estimate of number of Hispanics versus estimate of the Mexican Consulate in Atlanta
The Chattanooga Times Free Press has a chart showing the Hispanic population, according the 2006 Census estimates, to be as follows in the following three states:
* Georgia: 70,229
* Alabama: 11,497
* Tennessee: 19,324
I don't know what the true figures are, but only 70,229 in Georgia is comical. Rather than only 100,000 in these three states, the Mexican Consulate in Atlanta estimates there are 800,000 Mexicans in the area.
