Mom to home school student at odds with district over facial piercings -- Good move Mom. System appreciates it & shows real leadership on your part.

A Henry County student who refuses to remove his facial jewelry is finally moving out of detention, but instead of returning to a regular classroom, he will be home schooled.

The Henry County School District rules bar visible body piercing with the exception of earrings.

Mom here sure is setting a good example for junior. If junior won't follow school rules, will he follow hers, if any.

Buddy Welch is the attorney for the Henry County Board of Education, as I am for the Coffee County Board of Education. We witness daily how much time educators have to spend handling problems that should be handled at home, or would not exist had there been good parenting. Such problems reduce the time educators have to spend on those who are taught to respect rules and the rights of others.
