What a day for a day dream. No, what a day for making a dream come true!! Have faith, the pendulum always swings. -- Thanks to some great Democrats.
An 8-15-04 post entitled "That high-pitched whine is the sound of Martin Luther King, Jr. twirling in his grave," mentions both "Stone Mountain" and "the red hills of Georgia."
Yesterday Stone Mountain was in full and gorgeous view on a clear and beautiful Saturday morning as seen from the 28th floor of the offices of Kilpatrick Stockton, LLP, at 1100 Peachtree Street in Atlanta.
And although "the red hills of Georgia" were covered with concrete and greenery, their namesake -- the Red Clay Democrats of Cobb County -- were highly visible and muchly appreciated.
My 8-15-04 post praised my favorite low profile political trio – Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond, Attorney General Thurbert Baker and former state Democratic Party Chairman Calvin Smyre – for remaining most vigilant in rebuilding our state's white-black Democratic coalition as we all work together in reviving the crumbled Democratic power and putting back together again our Humpty-Dumpty Democratic Party of Georgia following our November 2002 whipping.
Today we add the names of others who are hard at work in righting the Democratic Party’s ship and, in the process, changing the perception around the state that our Party has lost some of its luster.
We all know that in politics the pendulum always swings.
Without question this group's Saturday contribution (and sooner rather than later I feel sure) will assist in restoring our Party’s proud history in Georgia and help make the infamous day November 5, 2002, a date that would soon be forgotten.
They know what they did. Some you know; others you probably don't. For those you do know, thank them for their efforts on our Party's behalf when next you see them.
They deserve our heartfelt thanks and appreciation, for they shared a Lovin' Spoonful and then some of themselves Saturday.
The group -- David Adelman; Steve Anthony; Clem Doyle; Mary Margaret Doyle; Paul Gage; Jennifer Grigas; Mike Jacobs; Ashley Jones; Bobby Kahn; and Mark Taylor.

whose jennifer g?
Jennifer Grigas is the type you would like to have on your side. She is Finance Director for Mark Taylor's campaign, and she is good, very good.
