Kaine quits DNC, enters U.S. Senate race to succeed Virginia’s Webb
The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Timothy M. Kaine announced Tuesday that he would run to succeed retiring Sen. James Webb, giving Virginia Democrats a marquee candidate for a race that could help determine control of the U.S. Senate and the political direction of a rapidly evolving state.

Kaine despite being in charge of the left leaning DNC is a strong candidate for dems up in Virginia & with the stae's changing demographics, a win by Kaine is not out of the ordinary. Plus having popular former governor Mark Warner already in the Senate will help Kaine tremendously
