Thurmond joins Columbus-Atlanta law firm Butler, Wooten & Fryhofer
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that former Georgia Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond is joining Jim Butler's law firm Butler, Wooten & Fryhofer, a nationally known and highly respected trial law firm.
Thurmond served as the state’s labor commissioner for 12 years before taking on Sen. Johnny Isakson as the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate this past November. He was a very active constitutional officer during his tenure as labor commissioner, and I will miss his frequent visits to Douglas and South Georgia.
Perhaps our paths will continue to cross if he spends time in the firm's Columbus office where my son-in-law Brandon Peak practices. Brandon initially was with the Butler, Wooten & Fryhofer Atlanta office after leaving Troutman Sanders, and then firm founder Jim Butler persuaded him to move to Columbus a couple of years ago.
Brandon (center) and the rest of the Squire's clan (without the four grandchildren) are shown above below the Commissioner.
