Larry Peterson on (1) Roy Barnes and the four dwarfs and (2) Karen Handle as a charter member of the GOP establishment.
Larry Peterson of the Savannah Morning News writes:
[Former Governor Roy] Barnes is not just dominating the polls; he’s sitting on $2.2 million — more than the combined total amassed by his rivals.
Attorney General Thurbert Baker is a distant second with about $875,000. [A]s a state elected official, Baker can’t collect any more money until the General Assembly goes home.
State House Democratic leader DuBose Porter, who had only $303,000 on hand Dec. 31, is in the same boat.
[F]ormer Secretary of State Karen Handel with] apologies to Sarah Palin, Handel, too, seems to have gone “rogue” — with her crusade against “sex, lies and lobbyists” in Atlanta.
In any case, she’s turned her back on the GOP establishment. For folks with short memories, she was until recently widely seen as a charter member.
