Roll Call reports that the lack of a rival could boost Sen. Clinton in 2008.
A couple of months ago conventional wisdom was that Hillary had her plate full remaining a U.S. Senator, and that opposition in 2006 was a sure thing. I began questioning such conventional wisdom when she recently began veering to the political center with her remarks about abortion and her personal faith, etc., as noted in a 2-1-05 post.
Yesterday Roll Call indicated that state and national Republicans are increasingly worried that she will lack serious opposition in her 2006 re-election bid, providing her with a potent springboard for a presidential run two years later.
