Will House Minority Leader DuBose Porter run for Governor in 2010? Maybe, maybe not. But he says that 2010 may be the Democrats' year.

From InsiderAdvantage Georgia:

There’s been some speculation in recent weeks about a possible gubernatorial bid in 2010 by state Rep. DuBose Porter, D-Dublin, the House minority leader, and when we talked to him late yesterday he said he isn’t ruling it in - or out.

“It’s early,” he said. “I’ve got to get through another election. But after the time I’ve been here and seeing what’s happening in the state, it’s certainly something I’ll be looking at. I’ve still got another election and three sessions. It’s still early.”

He summed it up with this: “I’ve been here 25 years and timing is everything in something like this, and this very well could be our time.”

Just because you've hel office for a while doesn't mean your a good candidate for higher office.

What have you done, seriously, DB? What is your signature piece of legislation? When have you evr made a public stand against Repub's? When have you called out Sonny and defeated something he propsed but went against the principals of your party?

You're as charismatic as a rock, and no one under 40 will vote for you.

Not sure who's a bigger joke, you or Calvin Smyre.

DuBose Porter is the most pathetic Democratic "leader" in a generation. How can anyone seriously discuss this simpering GOP sycophant running for governor as a Democrat? Please!

He should stay in the house until 2010 when possibly Jim Marshall leaves his congressional seat & possibly run for governor or the senate & then porter should run for the 8th district seat if Michelle Nunn doesn't decide to run herself. I think he can become the next governor of Georgia. He has all the tools & the makeup of a future governor. But with possibly Marshall, Baker running for the post, it's impossible.

In the tradition of Zell, Joe Frank and Sonny, anyone with the name DuBose is a lock for governor.
